Some companies are just sooo touchy about people using their name in domain names. According to the man himself the latest to fall victim to this is John Chow’s reciprocal Twitter following service hosted at www.twitterfollower.com
Twitter have issued a Cease & Desist to John, it’ll be really interesting to see how this one pans out (there are certainly plenty of cases in John’s favour for this one)?
Oh and by the way there is also a very real chance that this could be just link bait by Mr Chow himself. If it is it’ll be a shame, I’d really like to see how the courts would see something like this.

Strangely enough, I was reading somewhere over the weekend about how lax twitter are about the use of there name and logos.
There are a heck of a lot of domains out there that are using the twitter brand name or variation thereof. The same goes for their logo(s). I guess that it was only a matter of time before they started doing something about it.
Using trademark names or brand names in domains is a big no no these days.

@Paul, aaaaaah – now I understand! See, I know the word “Abmahnung” (German) no problem, but that’s because I am German and not English, Australian or otherwise
Now I know the expression for “Abmahnung” in English, too.
Hmmm, it will be interesting to follow this case…

John doesn’t give a continental. He’ll disregard them,just as he did with Google….In the meantime this is a serious piece of linkbait, so serious that one has to wonder….

Oh I simply do not like this guy. Anyway putting the fact that I don;t like him aside, I was expecting this sooner or latter.
As for reading John Chow’s blog, there are no real ways to earn online there but most “what he is doing in his toilet” or whatever. The few good posts available are either guest posts or stolen and recopied from somewhere else.
A good place to learn is Problogger.net but for sure NOT Mr Chow.
@JohnChow if you’re reading this: I care a a damn. Peace.
