Text-Link-Ads referral program seems to be going great guns at the moment, I’m seeing more and more banners. Every blog I view seems to have at least one on show and some really hammer it home (although in my opinion a banner at the bottom of each post is just a bit too sickly!) I can see why this is the case, not only is it a great program for the referrers at $25 a sign-up but those $100 worth of free links could help elevate a nothing website to a money making website.
In being a great fan of not promoting what I wouldn’t buy myself I’ve only gone and splashed out $135 of my own cash on some links. The coupon code “starter kit” will get new sign-ups $100 free on a minimum $125 spend. I got carried away and went $10 over, with any luck the wife won’t find out. It’s going to be really interesting to see just what this $135 gets me in terms of traffic figures and income. There’s nothing like setting yourself a challenge and I can’t wait to find out if this is going to be a profit making exercise or just more money down the drain. At the end of the month when I reveal how I got on I’ll even give you the 7 websites that had my links on, just in case anybody wants to try the same thing for themselves.

Anyway it depends actually on many factors how well those money will be spend. For me, when i used to shop there until i found a cheaper (actually without paying money) TLA worked really well (tho i had to digg into the sites and see which one would do good). I was practically ignoring the sites that had the TLA code at the bottom of their site, while was targeting more the sites that had the TLA plugin in the sidebar (as higher as possible to the top).

The links I’ve bought are all well researched and well placed to generate traffic as well as any link love that might be going spare. It’s very early days but 1 website has proved to be head and shoulders above the rest in terms of referring visitors, was one of the cheapest as well!

Good to hear that Paul. Till the end of the month you will realize if it is worth to renew the text ad with some of the sites. When i started (for another website) the first month i eliminated 80% of the sites (not that they would not send traffic, just that they were performing lower than other sites and i was still in need of research).

Just came across your site, I’ll be watching for the results to this TLA trial. I was thinking about signing up as an affiliate, but I’m a little confused about their $100 offer… it says “The minimum order total to take advantage of this offer is $125.00.” – does that mean that you must order $125 worth of ads and then you get $100 off (thus only spending $25), or do you have to order $225 worth of ads, then get $100 off, thus actually spending $125?

It’s like you said first, order $125 worth of links and only pay $25. I think the offer is only valid for new sign-ups, I hope so anyway because I didn’t even try it, I just spent $135 of my own money to see what you could get!
