Google aren’t stupid, they have access to more internet marketing information that anybody ever in the history of the internet (source: I made it up). When Google launch a new product that they see real value in it pays to have a close look at what they’re doing to market it. If they are doing it then perhaps you should to? It’s all about Buzz at the moment, here are 2 things I picked up almost instantly that I’ll be playing around with:-
1. Number 2 spot is better than number 1. When I sign in to my GMail account I noticed that they’ve put the Buzz button second in the menu. Why isn’t it at the top? I don’t believe Google do anything by accident.
2. Full page adverts work. Want to get people to sign up for something, go full page! When I sign in to GMail I get a full page advert for Buzz. This goes right against Google’s notion of inconspicuous blended advertising. It’s right in your face, whallop.
Anybody else notice anything else they are doing?

I think they are trying their hand and this micro blogging thing. I wonder what rules they will have for advertising in this platform..

If there is one thing I’d like Buzz to do it would be to ban URLS from updates. I’m being serious! I think that some of these social networking tools have real value to people who would otherwise not bother with the internet but then they get fed up with endless Spam. Myspace, Facebook, Twitter – how many people use these 100% as social tools and not for spamming?
