Though I dont know if its universal but I have tested Kontera and infolink many times and there is a big difference in earning. After some negotiations they switched the account to a premium publisher as I also had to use different colour codes and (on one site a single line and other a double line) on my different sites. Since I used the single underline one, the click ratio for Infolinks has more than double. I think you're right too when saying it depends on the site. But for a blog whose traffic is mostly subscribed readers, a double line is better to not confuse them..and eventually push them. I am not sure if Infolinks has already made the selective fields ads option available to all account, but if you plan to really monetize with them, do have a talk with them to switch yr account to premium.
