Hi Paul, it’s me, Petra again. I have gone over the whole thing again and what I have done now is when I comment on a blog I have to enter my feed’s url into the slot “website” and then it will finally display my “recent post”. So instead of http://menswristwatchesonline.com I have to enter http://menswristwatchesonline.com/rss.xml. Now, I don’t know whether it was intended to work like that? Just a bit strange. What do you think?

Strange, the title shouldn’t have any impact – it’s just a text label for the feed. It might be worth adding 1 or 2 more entries to the feed. I know when I first tried it CommentLuv didn’t pick up the latest item unless the feed had 3/4 entries (why I set it to 5). Wonder if it’s changed again.

Hi Paul, thanks for that! Bit silly, really. Now I have changed it, but it still doesn’t seem to work. Has it got to do with the title of the feed? Because I just made something up and put it in the rss file I downloaded, but I haven’t got it recorded anywhere else.

Petra your feed is in place fine however you have put incorrect URLs in it. Your feed website is http://www.menswristwatchesonline.com but you link to http://www.menswristwatches.com – Any sort of check on that is going to fail.

Hi Petra, the easiest way of checking to see if the feed is valid or not is to browse to your site in Firefox (or your browser of choice) and see if a Feed icon is available next to the URL box.

I must admit I haven’t checked the functionality of this technique for a while. Let me have a look and I’ll get back to you

Paul, just today I have done what you suggest in this post and it all worked like a dream until I wrote my first comment on a commentluv blog (like here, as you can see), and it constantly comes back with “No last blog posts to return”. Now, I have no idea why that is, do you? What I didn’t quite understand was the line of code you have to add to the header section of your website, where it says “Title=Your site names feed” – what exactly do we put in there? Just any name we can dream up for our feed? Maybe I got hung up there. But otherwise it should be working. You are definitely more technically out there, can you help? Please?
