I use Twitter myself and have been getting some additional traffic (not much) from my followers. My profile is PR5 and as you said, it is no use "directly" to me as the link from my profile page to my URL is not followed. Creating a "user" with a long tail phrase is definitely very interesting and one that I will immediately experiment with. Come on now people, Twitter is not some sort of sacred cow in the web 2.0 world. Just like Stumble, Sphinn, FaceBook and everything else that allows us to push our own stuff, it will be used primarily for self promotion. Put it this way, do you know of anybody that has become popular by using Twitter? I mean somebody that already didn't have a large following before hand?
