As befits somebody of my status (don’t laugh) I was off jet setting around the world once again last month. OK, maybe I lied a bit, but we did take a weeks break in Benidorm Spain. On top of that I came home to the best weather we’ve had all summer so it was time for some serious boat fishing action, all in all it’s been a very “busy” couple of weeks. I’m glad I don’t have a normal job slaving away for the man.

Benidorm is brilliant, not if you’re the sort of up your own arse SFB that complains at people having a good time but for everybody else brilliant is the word. I was desperate for a chance to unwind and disconnect from the internet and Benidorm delivered just that. If you’ve never heard of the place then it was the original Brits Abroad, Costa Del Sun holiday destination. It had a reputation for all things bad about package holidays and died a death. Fortunately (and despite of Sticky Vicky still knocking around) it has managed to reposition itself as a nice place, a very laid back and fun place to holiday. If you’re after a cheap break you could definitely do much worse, I’ve even put it on my list of places that I don’t mind going back to. It’s also home to the BEST cheese burger in the world, of course I haven’t tried every burger in the world but I’m well travelled enough to know that what I ate on that final day is a very real contender.

We got back late last Monday and I knew straight away that not much work was going to be getting done. Whilst Benidorm was a great holiday it’s a little backwards in terms of hotel facilities. I didn’t want constant communication but this was at the other extreme. 1 internet PC that I’d have to share with the dozens of kids in the hotel, frankly I couldn’t be bothered! This meant I had to deal with my e-mails on Tuesday morning, 3 hours it took me to get through them all. I’d seen that the weather forecast for the UK was great this week and with mid afternoon tides I took the chance to give my new boat a run. Fishing is my other way of relaxing, not exactly ideal when I’m just back from holiday but I’m not stupid enough to miss out on the good weather when it comes, besides my job gives me a lot of freedom – I take passive to a whole new level!

And that’s just about been my last 2 weeks, I have hardly touched a computer, had plenty of fun and still made more than enough to keep the wolves from the door. How much? That would be telling and I just can’t be sure WHO is reading this blog. It’s not a bad life really is it? I should probably also mention the backlinks part of the title. Before I went away I had a fairly major blow with one of the services I use stopping. I decided to expierment and set a few things in motion and have stumbled across a fantatsic system for nailing top Yahoo rankings. Every page I’m trying it with I’m hitting the top spot for 3-4 word mid competitive phrases on Yahoo. There has been some fallout on Google but I’m just starting to see that rebound and settle again whilst the Yahoo rankings are holding firm. Anyhoo if it all works out nicely I might drop a few hints and tips in a later post :)
