Comments on: Getting Off The Akismet Black List

I just found that i am on the blacklist also. I havent been able to comment on blogs for the past week but thought it was a problem with my laptop. Im now gonna see if i can get off it! Jon@iwantafreemacbook’s last blog post..My Free Ipod has been Shipped

OK, so this was much easier than I thought. In order to get of the list you need to:-

1. Start making genuine comments
2. Contact the blog owner whose site you just commented on and ask them nicely to “not spam” your comment through the Akismet interface.
3. Repeat until your comment Karma is positive again.
4. Don’t ever think about using some half assed ping back shite again.

To kickstart the process you can “not spam” any of your comments/ping backs on your own blog first. Within 2 days, and 4 bloggers approvong my comments it looks like I’m back on the good list again.

I’ve only got myself to blame for using dodgy linking strategies – even if they are endorsed by a listers. Never mind, with any luck somebody somewhere has some experience of getting of the list.
