How often do you check your stats? If you’re anything like me then the answer is probably more often than you should! But it gets worse, for anybody making money online the 1 stat that interests us more than any other is “how much money have I made today”. We’re not even really checking anything meaningful, all we want to know is how much money have we made!
When I relied on Adsense for a large part of my income I wrote a utility called Adsense Alert that allowed me to forget about checking my earnings. I still do use it from time to time but Adsense now accounts for such a small amount that it’s become irrelevant to me. My latest obsession is affiliate marketing and once again the bad habits have developed, I probably sign in to various accounts 20-30 times a day – just to “check”. You can probably guess what is coming here:-
Introducing Affiliate Alert
A simple little windows application that goes of every hour and checks your daily affiliate earnings for you. Your earnings are presented via a popup window, spread over the hour. So say for example you have 4 accounts setup then you’ll get a popup every 15 minutes. At the end of the hour your earning amounts are updated again and the process repeats. There is no limit to the number of accounts that can be monitored.
To start of with in the publically available version I’ve included support for the following networks – Market Leverage, PeerFly, ClickBank and NeverBlueAds. However because of the way the system has been written it’s very easy to add new networks as and when.
The Current List Of Supported Networks Is As Follows:-
Market Leverage
PeerFly
NeverBlueAds
ClickBank
If there’s a network not in the list that you want supporting then just leave a comment. If there’s enough demand for a particular network then I’ll add it in (depending on if I can get an account approved or not I may need some credentials in order to do this).
Download Affiliate Alert
Version: 1.00 (Initial release)
Last Updated: 16/07/2009
You’ll also need the .net framework version 2 or higher to run Affiliate Alert. This should come installed on most modern PCs (or at worst be part of windows automatic updates) but if not you can install version 2 of the framework from this link.
Because this has been written for personal use and it’s something I’m using every day there will be ongoing development.

As your readers we get such great things from your habits. It’s just awesome. I am trying not to check my stats for a full week and see how things grow. Having that running would make me want to check out accounts as well.
lol, sounds like a mean circle of stats checking.
