I’m Starting To Worry About Kontera

February 12th, 2009 15 Comments

Does anybody use Kontera, have you been paid this month? I’m starting to get a little worried, my money normally hits my account by the 7th of the month at the very latest. Still no sign. I’ve written to them, no answer, yet! I’ve just signed in to see if there is any news on what’s going on and have found that their SSL security certificate has expired. Sure it only expired on the 11th of February but I’ve never known a company that wasn’t in some form of trouble let a security cert expire, be it only 1 day. Late payment and no security cert, hmmm…..

If anybody knows what’s going on at Kontera will you please leave a comment?

In order to raise money for victims of the Australian Bush Fires they are doing a special promotion, buy 5 for the price of 1 and having just ordered mine I can only recommend that you get over there and do the same. There are 30 books to choose from!

Phoning PayPal – How To Speak To A Human

February 9th, 2009 18 Comments

Due to a couple of things that were out of my control I had urgent need to contact PayPal over the weekend. The short story is that a merchant had sent my affiliate payment to a wrong e-mail address and that PayPal wouldn’t let me add that address to my account and get my money, just under £900 of it! I was a little annoyed. On trying to add the address and it failing it then became a matter of urgency that I had somebody look into it. I had no idea who was in control of that PayPal account. So I decided to phone PayPal, and this is where the fun started…

Using Your Forum Signature To Gain Traffic

February 5th, 2009 10 Comments

It’s no secret that forums are a great way of gaining some easy back links for your website. Whether you try to sneak a subtle link in to a post or you go for the more standard approach of stuffing your signature with a few links it’s a very easy technique. My question is this, just how effective is it? When I talk about linking being effective I mean in 2 regards, firstly in terms of SEO benefit and secondly in terms of traffic.

Entrecard Gets Binned

February 1st, 2009 3 Comments

If you’re new to blogging and looking to get some visitors (any visitors) then you can do worse than signing up for Entrecard. If you’ve never used Entrecard before then let me explain a little. It’s a service that lets you earn points by showing other people’s cards (125×125 images) on your blog. You can then use these points to show your card on other people’s blogs. Whilst it doesn’t deliver huge amounts of traffic it is a very cheap way (i.e. free) of getting some exposure for a new blog.
