We’d all like to make it to the top of the affiliate marketing tree, I think that’s fair to say right? Out there in the world of blogging there seems to be 2 categories of people who write about achieving that. There are those that are full of shit and bile. Who you wouldn’t trust as far as you could throw. On the other hand there are those that seem genuine and down to earth, they can write honestly and laugh at themselves.

I’m going to put this down as the biggest mistake I’ve ever made online. It’s now cost me hundreds of pounds, forget your dollars here I’m talking big boys currency, hundreds upon hundreds of genuine great british pounds!

Google isn’t a big fan of link directories, they’ve got a proven history of slapping them all ends up. The trouble for the avid webmaster is that it seems that some directories tend to buck the trend and meet whatever quality guidelines Google sees fit to impose this week. These can be a very easy link. There is also the issue that some of my competitors seem to rank well using nothing other than directory backlinks, that hurts!

Yesterday was Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year! It’s that time when people start paying for Christmas (Do people really borrow money to pay for a single day of the year? REALLY?) and the reality of another year of work kicks in.

Please Don’t Bother Asking For The Password Any More! – When I decided to share this technique I thought that people may have actually realised on their own that it would not be best to copy the exact example niches I gave. It appears not. Essentially all that has happened is that people have copied exactly and diluted the effectiveness of the method in those areas resulting in people moaning that it doesn’t work. I’m still using the method, all be it in different markets now and it’s still proving to be effective if you put the effort in and stick at it! Anyway, I’ve certainly learnt a valuable lesson from the whole experience.

Yesterday I made over $132 with Adsense. The method I used to do this is the same method I’ve been using for a long while now and it has resulted in some awesome Adsense earnings days, on occasion well over $200. The question is how do I achieve that?

I’ve written a lot on this blog about the methods I use to increase my Adsense revenue, most of it is about ad colouring and positions. How to get more traffic etc What I (and most blog owners) have never done though is explain the INS and OUTS of HOW I make that money.

Disclaimer – Right, let me get this out of the way first. This post will contain affiliate links. However, the fact I take a commission if anybody buys it has no impact at all on me writing this. I don’t believe in bigging crap up to get a sale, if you don’t believe me just search this blog for my reviews on Shoemoney Tools and Traffic Kahuna. I could have made a killing on them if only I’d “liked them”. I’m a firm believer in telling it how it is, it might make me poorer (and a crap affiliate marketer) but I sleep sound at night.
